A pleasant surprise on the Jersey side of the Hudson
Coperaco is a boutique cafe located inside the ground floor lobby of Urby's residential complex in Harrison, NJ. Designed by Amsterdam based Architectural firm Concrete, this beautiful interior will immediately remove you from the urban surroundings and into a lush green oasis. Serving as a communal space for Urby residents but also opened to the general public. Coperaco is a great space to meet a friend, a casual business meet up or simply a place where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee before catching the Path train into the city.
There is so much to say about this hiding retreat. The overall design is incredibly pleasing; the abundance of natural light, the subtle play with heights, flooring, colors and textures, and let's not forget to mention all the greenery.
Offering a bit for everyone when it comes to seating arrangements, from a large group table as you enter, to banquet and bar height seating around the sleek white marbled coffee bar, to small clusters of banquet and table arrangements surrounding a large indoor tree.
A 2-level treehouse like wooden structure with a braided rope featured wall is nestled in the back and gives way to a more intimate setting. With plush living room type seating, mid-century style accent furniture, working fireplace, TV's, and a library layout on the second level with a serene view of the cafe below.
So if you are in the area or not, stop by or take a quick trip to see this interior for yourself. I promise it won't disappoint!
In the meantime, here are a few design elements that had me at first sight.
The cascading vines on those light fixtures and that flooring
Gave me all the green house feels
That mauve pink and mint green
And what can we say about that braided rope wall, love!
Those colors & cozy feel
