Our Process

Our approachable character and comprehensive client-focused process give way to a smooth and personalized experience that stays true and mindful of adhering to a client's vision, budget, and timeline.

I. Consultation

We'll talk. Get to know each other, you'll learn more about us and our services, we'll listen in order to assess your needs, vision, and goals, we'll take this opportunity to walk the space, provide you with some guidance on space layout, furniture placement, paint color options, millwork and decorative details, as well as help you address any minor design dilemmas. After the consultation, we will prepare a design proposal that will give you a snapshot of what you can expect from the total design, outlining the scope of work and the anticipated design fee associated with your project.

II. Visioning & Programming

Once we have an approved proposal along with a design retainer, W&E will begin the process of gathering all project specifics, essential details, and questionnaires. We will conduct a detailed space survey, take photos and measurements that will then assist us in developing those famous design drawings. We also meet with architects and any other trade partners involved or required in the project. W&E carefully researches every project so we can create authentic stories and be able to deliver thoughtful interiors that are meaningful and based on our client’s lifestyles.

III. Schematic Phase

During this creative phase, we begin to blend our design expertise with your vision and desires. We focus on developing an overall concept and begin producing all required design drawings such as plans, elevations, sketches, or any other drawings needed to convey the design direction for your project. We'll begin to source necessary items (FF&E) such as furniture, fabrics, lighting, wall and window treatments, finishes, paint swatches, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and accessories, all intended to support the design approach and help you visualize the look + feel of the space.

IV.  Design Development

Design presentations are an exciting part of our process. Our initial Design Presentation is where we share conceptual boards, schematic designs, ideas, and estimated budget for all components of the project. After receiving your feedback, we'll go back to make all necessary revisions and updates in preparation for the final Design Presentation, which will include the final construction documents, budget, and all design details for the entire project.

V. Final Design + Specifications

Once the final Design Plan is signed and approved, W&E will begin preparing itemized proposals outlining all costs, finalizing detailed drawings, assembling specifications and schedules that provide clear instructions to your architect and builder when construction is part of the project scope. Proposals are then sent out for client approval and as deposits are received, we start the process of purchasing all product items noted on the final Design Plan on your behalf.

VI. Construction Admin + Procurement

Communication, coordination, and monitoring are a huge part of this phase. Here we work closely with the all trade partners, vendors, and visit the job site regularly to oversee that the work is progressing on schedule and as planned. During this time, W&E will continue to communicate with you regularly to address any concerns and keep you up to date on the progress of your project. We'll work on managing all deliveries, coordinating installs, to scheduling our final walk through and project reveal.
